Somebody stole my recycling tote. I don’t get it. It’s a plastic bin used to carry old papers, aluminum cans, and other stuff that can be reused to the street. You can buy one for less than $10. No one that doesn’t care about the environment bothers to recycle. Seems kind of ironic doesn’t it? A thief went to the trouble to steal my recycling tote so they can be environmentally conscious. Huh??

Are you sure that it was taken? I think ours probably blew away once it was emptied, one of the "windier" days last month. I was a bit annoyed that our waste management company would not give (or even SELL) us a replacement, though.
You sure the roaming doggy didn't drag it away? You know what I mean, every community has one. The poor dog that its owners just let run loose and it drags the weirdest thing into its own yard like treasures?
Or maybe the person that stole it considered themselves 'recyling' your belongings :)

OK you guys are telling me not to be so sure of the evil nature of my fellow man. Maybe you're right, but we did look all around both our yard and our neighbors. It wasn't windy that day, so the marauding pup is the more likely choice. Those totes seem kind of heavy and akward for a pup to cart far though. Maybe though - I just thought the whole thing kind of ironic.
Now the big problem - as Alex said - is figuring out how to get a new one. We had to beg for the first one even though they don't mind charging extra for recycling pick up and they say you have to use their tote, we had a really tough time getting them (our trash pick up folks) to give us a tote to start with.
Maybe someone needed a new bathtub.
