Get Up, Stand In Line, and VOTE!!

Tomorrow is election day and if you haven’t already voted please do so. I think that we take our right to vote for grated way to often in this country. It's actually refreshing to see so many people voting early and to hear that really longs lines are expected tomorrow. Don't let lines discourage you. Remember, if you don’t vote, you don’t have a right to complain about the way the country is run. Stand up and be heard. I just ask that you vote for what you really believe in. Please think it through carefully, and don't be swayed by media hype one way or the other.

Zan, I'll be out there braving those lines, and I hope I have lots of company, preferably folks who have carefully considered how they'll cast those precious votes. Great post!

I'll be right there with you. I'm packing a book and a bottle of water.

Just like in yesteryear Chicago, Vote Early and Vote Often! All kidding aside, I'm with you, GO VOTE!

Christie- I'm not so sure there's not some of that going on. Didn't Mickey Mouse register in FL?

I've been hearing things on the news about voter fraud already, but I don't know the extent of it. But, isn't there always some rumors with every election?

You're right. If it's not hanging chads it's voting cartoon characters. I'm hearing more about it before this election though. Maybe it's just because emotions are running so high this year.

Done! My absentee ballot was mailed in last week!

Mailed mine in too!! Other states should really take a lead from Oregon. Zero polling stations. All ballots are mailed out. No lines, no lost time.

i think today should be a national holiday. thank goodness i live in a small town. small town equals small lines at 10a.

I voted a month ago! I had taken the Friday off before Greyfest (as I customarily do to set up, etc.) so I went to my county office that morning and stood in line for 15 minutes. It was great!

As a Florida native, I can vouch for Mickey Mouse being a candidate. Well, I think he was! When asked, my Mother would always say she voted for him so I assumed he was on the ballot. In all the years I knew her (she passed away in 2001), she never, never disclosed who she really voted for! She wasn't ashamed or anything, just really felt it was a private thing.

So, I have to say, dear Mickey also gets my vote - everytime!!

I've got to admit, I really like casting my vote on election day. I only waited in line for about an hour, and in that time got to visit with my neighbors and even meet a few I didn't know.

Patti- Love the mouse story. I think I would have liked your mother!!
